Are you feeling excited and ready for this year? Or maybe you had a great holiday season but don’t feel ready to get going again for the New Year. Whether you feel ready to throw yourself into the New Year with full force or are lacking enthusiasm, you can make this year your year of success! The key is to begin now with setting your goals and starting to achieve them!
5 Ways to Help this Year be Your Year of Success
Here are 5 ways to help this year be your year of success:
1. Choose your planner and use it! Select your favorite form of planning and keeping track of your schedule. It could be an electronic form, such as iPad or iPhone, computer format, or one of the many paper formats. I’ve used many different forms over the years, from Filofax to iPhone and computer. So far, my favorite which I’m using to start of this year right is a Franklin Covey personal organizer. I love the Master Plan pages, which allow scheduling from 5:00am to 10:00pm if necessary.
2. Set goals! Goals are the best way to achieve your aspirations. It works well to set short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals to span the year. Then set an affirmation that you have every day for a certain amount of weeks that is your main goal during those weeks.
3. Set a system to go with your goals! It’s great to set goals and plans, but if you don’t have a system of how you’re going to achieve them or use them, it’s difficult to make your goals and plans successful. Some examples of great systems to start your new year are planning meals for the week, nutrition tracking/diaries, and workout plans/tracking.
4. Choose an accountability partner or group! When you have a friend or family member who helps you stay on track, it is much easier to achieve your goal. You can also ask your partner to be there for you when your motivation is down to help you keep to your goal. Great examples for accountability partners are your spouse, parent, sibling, or close friend. It’s even better if your accountability partner or group is working toward a similar goal … then you can help motivate each other.
5. Use your system daily! Write down your affirmation daily, review your goals daily, e-mail your affirmation or goals to your accountability partner, call your accountability partner and talk about your goals, review your system … the list goes on. Choose your favorite way and then do something with it every day. It doesn’t have to be a big or long thing. It can take only a couple of minutes. Just make sure you do it every day. If you miss a day, start again the next day for the most success.
Get Started Right Away
It’s better to begin right away and get started. That’s the best way to achieve your goals. As FlyLady says, “Right away is the easy way!”
I hope you had a very happy holiday season, and I wish you a wonderful year! Here’s to your success! 🙂
